Your own systems can now generate Pactly contracts. Post a set of values to POST /v1/contracts/generate with a template ID, and Pactly fills the template, creates the contract and returns it, ready to download as a Word document. Every template’s detail page now has an API integration section listing its ID and the variables, value lists and parties it takes, with a one-click copy of the ID, so an integrator never has to ask what a template expects.

Options per request: Each call decides whether the contract is kept. Persisted contracts land in Pactly like any other, with workflows firing by default unless you turn them off. Ephemeral ones (persist: false) return the generated document in the response and leave nothing behind, which suits previews and what-if generation. Validation is strict and specific: an unknown key, a wrong type, an unknown option or a missing required value returns a 400 that says exactly what is wrong.
Contracts generated this way carry an API chip on their timeline, and the API key that created them is named in the audit trail. Full request and response details are on the API reference.
