Get contracts signed and filed without leaving Pactly
Place each signer's fields and send. They sign in their browser with no account, and the signed copy returns to the contract, sealed and marked Executed.
Free 30 day trial. No credit card needed.
What the people signing see
Each signer gets an email naming who at your company sent it, with a link to the contract. Pick a step to see their screen.
The email
It names who is asking and which contract, with a button to review and sign. A reply goes straight to the person who sent it.
Their fields, one after another
The contract opens in the browser, with no account to create. Start Signing takes them to each field they need to fill.
Draw, type or upload
They sign the way they prefer, and add a company stamp where you placed one.
A copy for everyone
When the last person signs, each signer gets an email with the signed contract and the date each person signed. An admin can turn these emails off.
Choose the order people sign in
Pick an order to see who gets the request on which day.
Sequential signing. Each person is sent the request once the one before has signed, so your side can sign last. Send reminders nudges only the next person in line.
- On Monday, Lena Fischer is sent the request.
- On Tuesday, Arjun Pillai is sent the request and Lena Fischer signs.
- On Wednesday, Rahul Menon is sent the request and Arjun Pillai signs.
- On Thursday, Rahul Menon is reminded.
- On Friday, Rahul Menon signs and the contract is executed.
Parallel signing. Everyone is sent the request at the same time and signs when they can. Send reminders nudges everyone who has not signed yet.
- On Monday, Lena Fischer, Arjun Pillai and Rahul Menon are sent the request and Lena Fischer signs.
- On Wednesday, Arjun Pillai and Rahul Menon are reminded and Arjun Pillai signs.
- On Thursday, Rahul Menon signs and the contract is executed.
Also in Pactly e-Sign
Pactly e-Sign is part of Pactly’s contract management, so each request starts and ends on the contract record.
Automatic reminders
Turn them on and Pactly emails whoever is due to sign on the schedule your admin sets, and stops once they sign. You can still nudge people yourself from the timeline.
Viewers and copies
Add viewers who read and acknowledge the contract at their place in the order, and people who should get a copy of the signed contract.
Schedules signed with the contract
Add exhibits and annexes to the request and they are merged with the contract into one PDF that everyone signs.
A different person to sign
Replace a signer from the timeline before they sign. Signatures already collected stay where they are.
Company stamps
Place a stamp field and the signer uploads their stamp or generates one, beside their own signature.
Contracts signed elsewhere
Upload a contract signed on paper or with another tool, and mark it Executed, or keep it at Pending Signature until every signature is in.
The signed PDF carries proof nobody changed it
When signing completes, Pactly seals the file with a fingerprint of its contents. If anyone edits even one figure later, the fingerprint no longer matches the seal.
What protects a contract signed in Pactly
What Pactly e-Sign adds to every request, and what protects the account the contract is kept in.
How Pactly protects your dataOn each signed contract
- A seal
- Added when the last person signs, with a certificate Adobe Acrobat and Reader recognise.
- Edits that show
- A change made after signing breaks the seal, so the file no longer matches what was signed.
- An independent time
- The time of sealing comes from a separate time stamping service, not from anyone’s computer clock.
- An audit report
- Every step from sending to the last signature, with times and IP addresses. It downloads on its own, and by default it is also added to the signed copy.
- Access codes
- A code you share separately, needed before a signer can open the contract. Colleagues can be asked to log in to Pactly instead.
- One copy for all
- By default, every signer, viewer and copied recipient gets the same signed document by email.
In your Pactly account
- Certification
- Pactly is ISO 27001 certified.
- Encryption
- Data is encrypted in transit and at rest.
- Two factor authentication available to everyone, and single sign on for enterprise customers.
Questions about electronic signatures in Pactly
How can someone check a signed contract later?
Open the signed PDF in Adobe Acrobat or Reader. Its signature panel shows that Pactly sealed it, that the document has not changed since, and when it was sealed. The audit report on the contract lists every step of the request.
Do the people signing need a Pactly account?
No. They open the link in the email and sign in their browser, on a phone or a computer. You can still ask a signer for an access code you share with them separately, and colleagues can be asked to log in to Pactly first.
Which plans include Pactly e-Sign?
It comes with Pactly’s contract management plans, so there is no separate signing subscription to buy. See Pricing for the plans.
Can we keep using DocuSign or Adobe Sign?
Yes. Your admin connects them once, each person activates their own account, and you choose the provider each time you send a contract for signature. Either way the request, its progress and the signed copy are tracked on the contract. The seal and audit report on this page are Pactly e-Sign's own. DocuSign and Adobe Sign apply their own signature and verification.
What if only our side signs in Pactly?
Mark the request partially signed. Pactly keeps the signed copy on the contract and leaves it at Pending Signature, without the steps that follow execution, until the other signatures arrive. Upload the fully signed copy then and the contract becomes Executed.
Does sealing send our contract to anyone?
No. To create the seal, Pactly sends only a fingerprint of the file, a short value worked out from its contents, to the services that issue the certificate and the time. The contract itself stays in Pactly.
What if someone declines, or the wrong person was asked to sign?
A signer can decline and give a reason, which you see on the contract and by email. If someone else should sign, replace them from the timeline before they sign. Signatures already collected are kept.
