Long email threads used to pile duplicate attachments onto a contract: every reply in a thread carries the same files again, and each one was re-added to the Attachments panel. Pactly’s own notification emails made it worse, since they include the request’s files and land back in the contract’s email-in address.
That’s fixed at the source. Attachment extraction now skips Pactly-generated emails entirely, and every path that adds attachments (email-in, form submissions, e-signature flows, notes) skips files that are byte-identical to one already on the contract. Adding a duplicate manually shows a warning instead of silently doing nothing. A changed version of a document still comes through as its own attachment.
Cleaning up existing duplicates: The Attachments panel now groups identical copies into a single entry with a count badge. Expand a group to see each copy’s date and where it came from, then click the copies you don’t need (shift-click selects a range) and delete them in one bulk action.

The email-in guide covers how attachments arrive by email.
