Connect DocuSign or Adobe Sign

Your team already pays for DocuSign or Adobe Sign and wants to keep signing there, not switch tools. Connecting the provider to Pactly lets you send a finished contract for signature without leaving the contract record, while the envelope is still created and tracked in your own provider account.

DocuSign and Adobe Sign both connect per user: an administrator sets up the integration once, then each person who will send for signature authorizes their own provider account. So a signer’s requests come from their account, with their identity, not a shared service account. Only an administrator can add and configure the integration; until it is set up and their account is mapped, other users see a message asking them to contact their administrator.

  • You need an administrator role in Pactly (the Integrations menu and the setup controls are admin-only).
  • You need administrator access in DocuSign or Adobe Sign to map users and authorize the connection.
  • The accounts you map in Pactly must correspond to real users in your provider account.

DocuSign maps a Pactly user to a DocuSign user by DocuSign User ID. You map the administrator account first, then map any other signers and let each one authorize their own account.

Step 1 of 5
1
Open Integrations

From the left menu, open Integrations. This menu is only visible to administrators.

2
Add the DocuSign integration

Find DocuSign in the list of available integrations and add it. Pactly opens the DocuSign configuration screen.

3
Select the Pactly user to map

Choose the Pactly user to map to your DocuSign administrator account. Only this user can activate the integration first; the rest are mapped afterward.

4
Enter the DocuSign User ID

In DocuSign, open Settings, then Apps and Keys (Integrations), then My account information, and copy the User ID. Paste it into Pactly and choose Set user mapping.

5
Connect and authorize

Use Connect Me to authorize the mapped DocuSign account. If you are already signed in to DocuSign, the connection completes and the mapping shows as active. Otherwise, sign in and approve the authorization when prompted.

Step 1 of 5

A DocuSign User ID is per user, not per account. In DocuSign, open Settings → Apps and Keys (Integrations) → My account information and copy the User ID shown there. Paste it into the Pactly mapping field.

Once the integration is active, you can map anyone else who needs to send for signature:

  1. Choose Sync DocuSign users to pull the current list of users from your DocuSign account.
  2. Pick a DocuSign user and the Pactly user to map them to, then choose Map user.
  3. The mapped user receives a notification and must authorize their own account before their mapping becomes active.

Adobe Sign uses the same per-user model but starts from the provider side. Instead of pasting an ID, the administrator authorizes through Adobe Sign directly:

  1. From the left menu, open Integrations and add Adobe Sign.
  2. Choose Connect Me. Pactly redirects you to Adobe Sign to sign in and authorize the connection. You need an Adobe Sign administrator account to load your users for mapping.
  3. After authorizing, map your Pactly users to Adobe Sign users the same way as DocuSign. Each mapped user authorizes their own account before their mapping becomes active.

Each integration has its own Actions on the integration page, shown as switches. Turn on the signing action (for example, Request signature) so mapped, activated users can send a contract for signature from the contract record.

After that, sending for signature follows the standard flow. See Request an e-signature for how a signer starts a request from a contract.

Open the integration from the Integrations menu to manage it:

  • Add or remove user mappings as people join or leave the signing team. Removing a mapping disconnects that user.
  • Disconnect all ends the connection for every mapped user while keeping the integration configured.
  • Remove deletes the integration entirely.
