Email Modifiers for Multi-Workspace Access

If you need to access multiple Pactly workspaces, you can use email modifiers (also known as plus addressing or subaddressing) to create multiple accounts using a single email address.

Email modifiers use the + symbol to create variations of your email address that all deliver to your main inbox.

Format: [email protected]

For example, if your email is [email protected]:

All of these addresses will deliver emails to [email protected], but Pactly treats each as a unique user account.

Step 1: Determine which workspaces you need to access.

Step 2: Create a unique email modifier for each workspace:

  • Use descriptive modifiers like +legal, +sales, +apac
  • Keep modifiers short and memorable

Step 3: Register for each workspace using the modified email address.

Step 4: When logging in, use the specific modified email for the workspace you want to access.

WorkspaceEmail AddressPurpose
Legal Team[email protected]Main legal contracts
Sales[email protected]Sales agreements
APAC Region[email protected]Asia-Pacific contracts

Most major email providers support plus addressing:

Microsoft 365Yes

Outlook.comYes

Note: Some corporate email systems may have plus addressing disabled. Check with your IT administrator if you’re unsure.

  • Use consistent naming: Establish a naming convention for your organization
  • Document your modifiers: Keep track of which modifier corresponds to which workspace
  • Set up email filters: Create inbox rules to organize notifications from different workspaces
  • Each modified email is treated as a completely separate user
  • You cannot merge accounts or transfer contracts between workspaces
  • Password resets must be done for each account separately
